The return: when emotions become memories
A few days have passed since returning to Italy and that confusion generated by the emotions seen and experienced over the course of two weeks is beginning to settle, becoming memories. The image of where we have been and of how much at the time we did not realize because we were already looking for the next place, but which now becomes clear, is starting to take shape. We knew that Alaska was a tough nut to crack even just to visit as tourists, but we had to use up all our energy to be able to grasp what was within our possibilities, neglecting only what was impossible to do due to absolute lack of time. So I begin writing down the memories before something is lost, leaving at the end the comments and indications that may be useful for understanding some details.
Alaska: the last frontier to conquer
Six years ago, returning from the splendid journey in Western Canada, it seemed that the drawer of desired trips had suddenly emptied and that it would no longer be possible to find dreams that, by coming true, could emulate the reality just experienced. Not lacking imagination in dream matters, we managed to let new dreams flow into that drawer, which little by little came true. There was nevertheless one left that continued to tickle the fantasies. Perhaps also because we had already tasted a sample of Alaska on the return from Dawson City, skirting its easternmost part, perhaps because that land in our imagination continued to represent the "frontier". Perhaps because it truly is.
